What services does the YWCA of the City of New York provide?
The YWCA NYC is a multi-service organization focused on youth leadership development in under-resourced communities in New York City. Our services include Elementary and Middle School After-School Programs and YW’s Girls Initiatives, offering STEAAM (science, technology, engineering, activism, art, and math) training for high school girls, along with girls’ leadership and empowerment initiatives.
It’s important to note that we no longer provide housing accommodations, temporary housing, room rentals, or job training services to underemployed or unemployed women.

Who do we serve on a yearly basis?
We serve approximately 2,000 young women and children in New York City each year. Our mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and stand up for social justice. To achieve this, we provide community-specific programming in locations across Brownsville, Coney Island, Carroll Gardens, Harlem, and our Hell's Kitchen Resource Center, which focuses on high school girl's programming.
The communities that we serve are distinct, culturally diverse areas whose economic progress has significantly lagged behind other neighborhoods in New York. We are committed to ensuring that these community’s young people have access to the resources, tools and opportunities they need to survive and thrive.

How can I make a contribution to the YWCA of the City of New York?
The YWCA of the City of New York is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making contributions tax-deductible as allowed by law. You can support our mission by making individual gifts, corporate and foundation gifts, stock donations, legacies and bequests, matching gifts, United Way designations, or in-kind contributions. Where do we operate?
Our headquarters is located in the Financial District of Manhattan. We operate various programming locations in different neighborhoods, including Brownsville, Coney Island, Carroll Gardens, Hell’s Kitchen, and Harlem, to better serve our communities.

How are we funded?
Our funding comes from a combination of public and private sources. Currently, approximately 60% of our funding is provided by city and state sources, with the remaining support coming from foundations, corporations, and generous individual donors.
